What are the different types of paper tuck boxes?

We carry 3 different models of tuck boxes to fit different functions

  1. Tuck Bottom Box
These tuck bottom boxes are often standard box models for poker card deck, toothpaste packaging and cosmetic / make up packaging and are suitable to light weight and small products.
  2. Snap Lock Bottom Box
These snap lock bottom box are suitable for heavier products such as candles, honey etc.  The bottom are interlock to each other to create a strong base to hold your products.
  3. Auto Lock Bottom Box
These boxes are pre-glued at the bottom so that when you assemble the box, you need not tuck in or fold the bottom of the box. They will easily form to shape when you need them. They are also great for holding heavier products.

Can I print on the inside of the box?

Most of the paper materials we carry allows us to print on the inside of the box so inner printing is not an issue.
However, inner printing would be slightly more costly and its best to let us know of this requirement right at the start of the project.

What are the different kinds of enhancement I can consider for my box?

Usually for paper tuck boxes, the enhancements are done to make the box look more premium and our recommendation would always be to find a print finishing that fits your budget and your brand. Here’s a list of printing techniques which we are able to add on:

  • Foilstamping – we carry a wide range of metallic foils. The most commonly used are the matte gold foil and the silver foil.
  • Spot UV – It is refers to a glossy coating that is only applied to a selected area of your design – usually done on logos to make them stand out better
  • Embossing / Debossing – It can be done on top of a printed logo or it can be done blind
  • Lamination – Glossy, Matte & Touch Lamination are available and we often use them to protect the print too
  • Diecut – Usually this technique is employed when we need to create a window on the box for the product to peek through

What is the leadtime to produce custom paper boxes?

Mock up: 2 weeks
Mass production: 4-5 weeks

*Our production is based overseas. The leadtime mentioned above is inclusive of delivery to 1 location in singapore.

What is a mock up and do I need one?

A mock up is a physical sample printed with your artwork and created based on your specs for you to approve before mass production. Mock up would be 90% similar to the mass production – printing colors may differ slightly between mock up and mass production.

We would suggest for clients with complicated artworks and features to do a mock up and also for clients who do not have experience ordering packaging boxes before to have a mock up review before mass production.

Mock up fee would be $150 – $300. Mock up fee will be waived upon client’s confirmation to proceed with mass production based on mock up.

What are some common discrepancies that can happen during mass production?

For mass production of customised products, there are some discrepancies that may happen and such are:

  • Size discrepancy of up to +/- 1m – 2mm
  • Printing colour variation up to 20% color variation between mock up and mass production

  • Misalignment for finishing such as embossing, spot uv, foilstamping up to 1mm

These discrepancies are unavoidable and may occur to a portion of the goods, on our end, we will do our best to keep the discrepancies at the lowest during each production run.

What happens if the mass production have defects?

In the unfortunate event when there’s defects in the mass production, we will assess the feedback and quantity of defects and propose a solution to rework the issues that has occurred should the defects/issues lies outside the mentioned discrepancies and rest assure that our team will follow through the project till completion.
